Chapter Presidents and Esteemed Colleagues,

Our plans to complete discussion of the draft Chapter Affiliation Agreement at the Chapter Development Committee meeting in San Diego during our 2009 AHMP National Conference were unfulfilled due to the fact that the majority of Chapter Delegates were not prepared for this activity.  Most were not even aware that we had sent the agreement to your chapters for comment prior to the conference.  Needless to say this created some controversy, and I might add, some ill feelings on the part of the Chapter Delegates that were prepared.

This important agreement is meant to formalize the relationship between AHMP and affiliated chapters, and be a step forward in support of our chapters.  The intent is to create a win-win-win relationship for chapters, AHMP national, and the membership  as a whole.  It is crucial that you participate in this process because once we achieve a consensus document all chapters will be required to sign this agreement in order to continue  affiliation with AHMP.

Due to the discussion at the conference we have decided to initiate another review and comment period.  I am attaching two documents to this e-mail: 1) the draft Chapter Affiliation Agreement, and 2) the comments/questions received from 5 of our chapters during the previous review/comment period with answers to those comments/questions, plus identification of where modifications were made to the Chapter Affiliation Agreement.  My thanks go out to the Three Rivers, New Jersey, Gateway, Kentuciana, and CHMM of Michigan Chapters for their thoughtful questions/comments.

This next review/comment period will be sixty (60) days.  Please review these documents and comment by close of business November 16, 2009.  It is crucial that your comments/questions specifically cite the section of the agreement to which they refer.  If you are satisfied with the agreement as is, please respond to this e-mail so we receive feedback from every chapter.  Once a final draft is completed all chapters will be required to sign this agreement in  order to continue affiliation with AHMP.

Very respectfully, your obedient servant,
