The program:
Sustainability Initiatives at Alaska Airlines
Presented by: Jacqueline Drumheller, C.H.M.M.
Environmental Programs Manager, Alaska Airlines
Airlines are not green businesses. Each day air travel uses millions of gallons of jet fuel to move goods and people around the globe efficiently, while in turn responding to national and global pressure to reduce their environmental footprints. One airline in particular, Alaska Airlines, is taking a leadership role in transforming the industry from one of consumption and waste to a more sustainable model.
Learn about sustainability initiatives at Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air, and in the aviation industry as a whole. Find out what a major commercial airline is doing to minimize its environmental footprint: from emission reduction initiatives, to in-flight recycling, to the development of aviation biofuels.
