Guest speaker: Giles Leonard, EIT. Giles is a Water Resources Engineer and Writer. He will be discussing "Stream Restoration for Baristas: Ways People Interact and Perceive Engineering in their Everyday Life." The field of Stream Restoration uses the entire library of civil engineering, in addition to non-engineering subjects necessary for success. This presentation will uncover ways the general public interacts with and views the black box of engineering and hazardous materials, as well as a cross-disciplinary look at how to restore a stream using Literature, Art, Philosophy, Civil and Computer Engineering, Artisanal Coffee, and more.
